Now this is cool to see. Legendary New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and his peers in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026 were greeted with a standing ovation in Canton, Ohio on Friday. Brees arrived alongside his old rivals Luke Kuechly, Larry Fitzgerald, and Adam Vinatieri as well as all-time great San Francisco 49ers running back Roger Craig. The Class of 2026 will be honored in Canton before they begin preparing for enshrinement this summer.
Brees and his fellow members of the Class of 2026 will be enshrined on Saturday, Aug. 8, with each of them delivering an induction speech before the unveiling of their bronze bust. Kuechly's Carolina Panthers will kick off an exhibition game with Fitzgerald's Arizona Cardinals in the annual Hall of Fame Game a couple of days earlier on Thursday, Aug. 6, at Tom Benson Stadium.
It's a lot to process. Between being fitted for the Hall of Fame's signature gold jackets, being reminded about the length of their speeches (about eight minutes), and all of the other pomp and circumstance, Brees and his peers will be busy in the months ahead. But it's the exact type of process they've all spent years hoping to experience.
