Wendell Carter Jr. is not letting outside noise disrupt his success in the league.
Carter Jr. continues to climb the ladder and solidify himself as a key player following his signing to the Orlando Magic in 2021. He recently shared how his relationship with Angel Reese, who was just traded to the Atlanta Dream earlier this month, helps in his success.
“We’re both competitors,” Carter said to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson. “Before games, after games, we tell each other what we should do night in and night out and not to pay too much attention to the outside noise. We call it the white noise.”
The NBA/WNBA power couple has tunnel vision and is looking to continue what they have already started.
“Try not to pay too much attention to it and just understand that we’ve already built our foundation in both our leagues and continue to build on it,” he said.
In 2024, Carter Jr. signed a three-year, $59 million contract extension. As for Reese, she is scheduled to earn a base salary of $350,692 for the 2026 season.
The couple began to spark romance rumors after he attended her 23rd birthday party in May. It continued with him sporting a t-shirt with her face on it at the WNBA All-Star game and a few months later, he confirmed that they were seeing one another when he shared they were "locked in."
“Y’all gonna find out when y’all need to find out," he shared. "We’ll just leave it at that. That’s my girl, though. We locked in for sure.”
