Bryson DeChambeau endured an absolute nightmare on day one of the PGA Championship.
DeChambeau struggled desperately on Thursday at Aronimink, shooting a round of six-over par 76 to leave himself outside the top 100.
The 32-year-old LIV Golf star faces a really uncertain future right now.
That’s because LIV Golf will not be funded by Saudi Arabia’s PIF beyond the end of the current season.

It remains to be seen whether LIV Golf will even exist from next season onwards, and the worst-case scenario is that Bryson DeChambeau may not actually have playing status anywhere in 2027.
Since the news about the future of LIV Golf broke, DeChambeau has been extremely outspoken.
In fact, Bryson DeChambeau has been linked with a move back to the PGA Tour, but everything is up in the air right now.
Paul McGinley was speaking on Sky Sports about DeChambeau’s poor opening round at on Thursday.

McGinley was asked whether DeChambeau is distracted right now due to the ongoing speculation surrounding the future of LIV Golf.
*“*It’s got to be part of it,” he responded.
*“*He missed the cut at The Masters as well too. There is a lot going on with Bryson at the moment.

*“*He’s been told by his agent not to do any media, he has been trying not to put his foot in it, because he said a few things which have been very controversial. That can’t help.
*“*I think more than anything he is playing well on LIV. It’s not that his game is off.
*“*Him and Jon Rahm and the guys from LIV, playing on the platform that LIV is, which is not as competitive as the PGA Tour, and the courses aren’t as difficult.
“Then having to elevate your game at major championships is a big, big jump. They get it four times a year when they are competing against the best players in the world and I think that brings a lot of pressure with it.“
The only part of DeChambeau’s game that was working on day one at Aronimink was his driving.
He ranked 19th in strokes gained off the tee on Thursday at the PGA Championship.
However, every other department of his game was way off the standards he expects.
The 32-year-old was ranked 100th in strokes gained approach and 150th in strokes gained around the green.
DeChambeau was ranked 133rd in strokes gained tee-to-green and 130th in strokes gained putting.
In total, Bryson DeChambeau was ranked T-136th in strokes gained total, having lost 3.814 strokes to the field on day one of the PGA Championship.
A lot of hard work will be required for him on Friday if he is to even make the cut.
