Golden State is riding after emerging victorious in its win-or-go-home game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. Despite playing on a minutes restriction, Stephen Curry ended as the game's leading scorer with 35 points and had the second-most minutes played on the team (36 minutes). His most important points came on a three-pointer (surprise) with 50.4 seconds left to give the Warriors the lead. Curry ended up in the first row of courtside seats, asking fans if he had made the shot, which of course he did. Kristaps Porzingis, who was also playing on a minutes restriction, and Gui Santos rose to the occasion, each providing 20 points, 5+ rebounds, and 5 assists.
Phoenix's morale heading into this matchup is much lower compared to their California opponents. Despite leading by 11 points with 7:13 to go in the fourth quarter, the Suns lost their first game 114-110 and were forced to play in a second game to determine whether they would enter this year's playoffs. Jalen Green was able to score 35 points, but star Devin Booker's foul trouble was what saw Phoenix fade from this game. He finished with five fouls and only scored three points in the fourth quarter (3/4 FT). Phoenix's 34.6% opponent 3P% is what can give them a shot against a team that is renowned for the three-ball.
