Dak Prescott is staying out of the noise, even as George Pickensā contract situation continues to hover over the Dallas Cowboys.
The star wide receiver is coming off a breakout season and is now pushing for a deal that reflects his rise into the leagueās elite tier.
But while negotiations remain unresolved, Prescott made it clear where his focus lies.

Speaking via JonMachota, Prescott kept his answer simple and measured.
āYeah, we were just working, no different than I have any offseason. Obviously, first real off-season of George being a part of it, and he showed up,ā Prescott said.
The Cowboys star added, āHe has been active, and he has looked great. So super excited, leaving all that those contract talks and that all to the front office.ā
The message was clear. Prescott values what Pickens brings on the field, but is not stepping into the business side of things.
Instead, the focus remains on preparation and building chemistry heading into the season.

The situation is far from simple, even with Pickens coming off a dominant year.
He posted 93 receptions for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns in 2025, finishing among the league leaders and earning All-Pro honors.
That production has pushed his market value into the $30 million per year range, placing him alongside the NFLās highest-paid wide receivers.
For now, the Cowboys have placed the franchise tag on him, a one-year deal worth roughly $27 million, buying time while negotiations continue.
Cap structure is a major factor. Dallas already carries multiple massive contracts, and committing long-term money to another receiver would further strain a top-heavy roster.
The team also has until mid-July to finalize an extension, meaning both sides still have a narrow window to reach a long-term agreement. Until then, Prescottās stance reflects the locker room reality.
