During the third round of the 2026 Masters Tournament, a fan yelled an obscure movie reference at Rory McIlroy as he took his tee shot on hole 17. The phrase, 'Give me back my son!' from the film *Ransom*, could lead to the fan being banned from future events.
A boisterous fan at Saturday's third round of the 2026 Masters Tournament in Augusta might never be allowed back at the hallowed grounds.
The fan in question yelled what we think is a very obscure movie reference as golfer Rory McIlroy hit his tee shot on hole 17 to close out his third day defending his 2025 Masters win.
"Give me back my son!" is a line from the Mel Gibson movie Ransom, which seems to be what the fan is referencing with his taunt. We have no idea why this movie line would be yelled at the Masters, but c'est la vie.
If the tournament organizers find out who yelled this, he's probably watching the Masters from home from here on out.
How odd.
