Rasmus Dahlin has his biggest fan back by his side.
Not long ago, the Buffalo Sabres' defenseman feared that his fiancee, Carolina Matovac, would never watch him play hockey again.
Matovac recently made her first trip back to the United States after recovering from a health care in the couple's native Sweden.
Now with the Sabres embarking on their first playoff journey in 15 years, Matovac is sure to be at the front of Dahlin's mind as he attempts to help Buffalo make magic happen.

Carolina Matovac was vacationing with Dahlin in France in the summer of 2025 when her heart failed.
Dahlin shared details about what happened at the start of training camp, revealing that his fiancee had nearly died.
"Without her receiving lifesaving CPR, the result would have been unimaginable," Dahlin wrote on the Sabres' website. "It is hard to even think about the worst-case scenario."
Matovac was on life support for "weeks" before she was able to get a heart transplant that saved her life.
The couple was also expecting a child, but the baby didn't survive the heart failure.
"You will always hold a special place in our hearts as our first baby, even though we never had the chance to meet. Our love for you is endless," Matovac wrote on social media on what was supposed to be her due date. "If it weren't for my worries about you, we might never have called for help and gone to the hospital."
Carolina Matovac experienced a serious health scare while in Sweden, which raised concerns about her well-being.

The Sabres allowed Dahlin to travel home to Sweden during the season to see Matovac while she recovered.
He spent most of the campaign half a world away from his betrothed, though.
Matovac was at the Sabres' game on March 25, her first game back, and earned an ovation from all the fans in Buffalo.
It's been a long road back, but now she and Dahlin are together again.
Despite the tough stretch of his life, Dahlin was brilliant for the Sabres in 2025-26.
The 26-year old defenseman appeared in 77 games and scored 19 goals with 55 assists (74 points).
He also blocked 79 shots and had 67 hits. Dahlin averaged more than 24 minutes of ice time per night.
He's one of the best defensemen in the entire NHL.
