The Boston Red Sox were playing early on Monday.
Their annual Patriots' Day game had a first pitch in the morning, and Sonny Gray was on the mound.
He only lasted a couple innings before he had to exit.

It seemed like a normal pitch.
But as Red Sox righty Sonny Gray walked back toward the mound, he did a little pause, and a little crouch, almost as if to stretch out his back.
That drew the attention first of his catcher Carlos Narvaez, and then of the Boston dugout. Manager Alex Cora came to the mound with a trainer.
Gray threw one pitch while they watched, appeared to have an angry look on his face, did the same back-crouch stretch again, then handed the baseball to Cora.
His day was over, and the Red Sox had to go to the bullpen.
It's not clear exactly what happened. Gray must have tweaked something on the pitch immediately before (or at least close before) he started to move around oddly.
It's not something Boston wants to start the week, because the bullpen will get stretched thin in a hurry.
But more so, they'll be hoping Gray's injury isn't too bad. He's a key component to their potential success this season, and so they'll want to have caught whatever the ailment is early enough that it doesn't hamper him for too long.
The specific details of Sonny Gray's injury have not been disclosed, but the update indicates it is concerning.
There is currently no timeline provided for Sonny Gray's return following his early exit from the game.
Sonny Gray's injury could significantly affect the Red Sox's pitching rotation and overall performance this season.
