What is the Saints' biggest team need after the 2026 NFL Draft?
The New Orleans Saints acquired outside linebacker Tyree Wilson, the 2023 No. 7 overall pick, along with a seventh-round pick from the Las Vegas Raiders. In exchange, the Saints gave up pick No. 150 in the 2026 NFL Draft. While adding a pass rusher was a key goal for New Orleans, there is still ample opportunity to bring in at least one more player in that position.
The edge rusher position has been identified as the biggest need for the Saints by CBS Sports following the NFL Draft. There are several talented players New Orleans could pursue, such as Joey Bosa and Jadeveon Clowney. However, the Saints seem to be particularly linked to one key player: franchise icon Cameron Jordan.
"TheĀ SaintsĀ already lost one longtime defensive cornerstone inĀ Demario Davis," CBS Sports' Zachary Pereles wrote. "Could Jordan be next? He can still be helpful against both the run and the pass, and it would feel strange for him to suit up for any other team. His 10.5 sacks last year were his most since 2021."
In the 2025 season, at 37 years old, Jordan delivered a resurgent performance with New Orleans, proving to the entire league that he could still play at a high level. Even if it's just to bring a much-needed veteran presence to the locker room, the Saints would be wise to consider adding him.

Ultimately, bringing back Jordan might seem like a decision driven by nostalgic purposes. However, as time passes and the veteran pass rusher remains without a contract, the chances of his return are growing. The salary Jordan would expect is unlikely to be substantial; it's likely to be a one-year deal with just under $10 million guaranteed, along with incentives that could increase his overall earnings.
