Jannik Sinner was struggling during his match against Daniil Medvedev, despite taking the first set. What started as a strong performance began to unravel, and the match looked like it might slip away from him.
The afternoon had started with such promise, but it didnāt take long for things to go sideways. It wasnāt long before he was moving gingerly, being pulled across the court by Medvedev.
Sinner has had health issues in recent tournaments and seems to be dealing with more than just fatigue. Heās been sick recently and is still recovering from an earlier injury.

Even though he had managed to grab a break in the third set, it was still surprising how eager he seemed for play to be suspended.
Medvedev had weathered the early storm, and momentum appeared to be shifting back towards Sinner, yet he clearly didnāt see it that way. He told the umpire: āItās pouring!ā
Sinner didnāt back down when the official pushed back, saying: āWhat do you mean? The problem is the lines. What if I slip on them? How can you not make the decision? Itās pouring!ā
The exchange came shortly after Medvedev voiced his frustration over a medical time-out Sinner had taken earlier.
Speaking during the Sky Sports broadcast, Jamie Murray backed Sinnerās view and raised questions about how the situation was being handled.
He didnāt hold back either, pointing out what he saw as a lack of control from the chair and suggesting that players have every right to step away if they feel conditions arenāt safe.
The match was postponed due to Jannik Sinner struggling physically, as he is dealing with health issues and recovery from an earlier injury.

Murray said: āThere is no way they should still be playing looking at that rain, no chance! I mean come on, umpire here! How can she say? Come on. This is unheard of from the umpire here, that sheās forced him to keep playing. This is nonsense.ā
He added: āJannik should also just stop playing, if he stops playing what are they going to do? Iām amazed that sheās saying they should continue, Iām even more amazed that Jannik is kind of accepting it.ā
Murray concluded: āIāve never seen an umpire so determined to keep the players on the court, normally theyāre so cautious. She was determined, it was chucking it down!ā
