The Golden State Warriors have finally made a decision on Steve Kerr’s immediate future with the Golden State Warriors.
The Dubs met with the 60-year-old several times since the franchise season-ending Play-In loss to the Phoenix Suns, and clearly agreed that it’s worth keeping in the mix for a little while longer.
“BREAKING: Steve Kerr has agreed on a new two-year contract to return as head coach of the Golden State Warriors,” ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on X/Twitter Saturday.
“After three weeks of extensive conversations, Kerr and the Warriors agreed to continue their legendary partnership in what will be his 13th season and beyond as Warriors coach.”
Charania’s report is good news for Stephen Curry, as it allows the 12-time All-Star to continue his successful partnership with Kerr, likely until he retires. Kerr has proven he can get the best out of Curry in the Bay, evidenced by the Davidson product’s Hall of Fame-worthy track record/resume.
However, Kerr's new deal puts more pressure on the former guard to lead Curry and the Dubs to the promised land sooner rather than later.
