Indiana football saw its fifth player taken in the NFL Draft on Saturday when the Baltimore Ravens selected wide receiver Elijah Sarratt with the 115th overall pick in the fourth round.
Hereās what to know about the newest Raven:
Sarrattās journey to the NFL went through Saint Francis University in Pennsylvania, James Madison and finally at Indiana these past two season. He, like several other members of the Hoosiersā past two rosters, followed Cignetti when he took the Indiana job after the 2023 season.
He was likely a few more healthy games away from being Indianaās leading receiver in 2025, being surpassed by Omar Cooper Jr. He didnāt reach the 1,000 yard mark in 2024 because the Hoosiersā offense was designed to spread the ball around and missed a few games in 2025 due to injury.
Sarratt lacks the athleticism of some of his peers, but made up for that at the college level with his size and understanding of his strengths to win physical battles with defensive backs, block in the run game and pick up additional yards after the catch. His nickname of āWaffle House,ā comes from the fact that heās always open. If a ball is thrown his way, heās going to find a way to make a play for the catch.
Heās a disciplined route runner who doesnāt tip his hand to opposing defensive backs before overpowering them. He was excellent at back shoulder receptions with Kurtis Rourke in 2024 and Fernando Mendoza in 2025.
If Sarratt has a weakness, heās worked to make up for it and his college production speaks for itself.
