Wide receiver Bryce Lance from the North Dakota State Bison was the second of two choices by the New Orleans Saints in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Lance was taken with the 136th overall pick and was the second of three draft choices the Saints spent on a wide receiver. Younger brother of quarterback Trey Lance, the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Bryce is just the second player ever drafted by the Saints out of North Dakota State, the first being center Mike Evenson as a 1973 Round 15 selection.
New Orleans was widely projected to add to their receiving corps this offseason. The drafting of three wideouts could make Chris Olave and perhaps Devaughn Vele and Ja'Lynn Polk as the only sure roster bets out of the returning receivers. Here's a look at what the Saints are getting from their second fourth round choice.
Bryce Lance stands 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighs 204 pounds, and has a 40-yard dash time of 4.34 seconds, among other impressive athletic metrics.
Bryce Lance's addition could reshape the Saints' receiving corps, potentially leaving Chris Olave and a few others as the only returning sure bets for the roster.
Bryce Lance is the younger brother of Trey Lance, who was the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Bryce Lance has both the length and speed that NFL teams covet. He's raw and faces a big jump in competition from FCS to the NFL. Lance should make an immediate impact on sideline routes and as a deep target. His long-term impact depends on how quickly he can develop as a route runner.
A former NFL Pro Bowl quarterback told me in confidence that he believes that Lance will be a mid-round steal and wind up being one of the top receivers in this year's draft class. After relying on practice squad players and free agents signed off the street at wide receiver, the Saints are hoping that Bryce Lance and first round choice Jordyn Tyson will quickly become lethal weapons in the Saints offensive arsenal.
