What time will the Detroit Lions pick? Estimated NFL draft pick times

The 2026 NFL Draft is underway in Pittsburgh.

The Detroit Lions own the No. 17 overall pick in the first round of the NFL draft and nine selections overall. In a change from previous years, teams now have eight minutes to make their first-round selections.

Previously, teams had 10 minutes to make their first-round selections. With that in mind, what time can Lions fans estimate Detroit will make its first-round selection assuming that the Lions stay put at No. 17?

After some opening words from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and several Steelers legends, the Raiders were officially on the clock at 8:05 p.m. ET.

With eight minutes per pick, that would roughly put the Lions on the clock at about 10:10 p.m. ET. Obviously, teams might not take the full eight minutes per pick, which could move that estimated pick time up. Or, the Lions could trade up.

But, just after 10 p.m. ET is a solid estimate for when the Lions might make their first-round selection.
