Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold has denied involvement in "what prosecutors allege was a revenge crime some of his associates are now charged with and awaiting trial for without bond in Florida," according to police interviews and incident reports obtained by The Detroit Free Press.
The revenge crime is alleged to be in retaliation for two robberies that occurred at an Airbnb that Arnold was renting in Largo. Arnold estimated he had more than $250,000 in cash and goods stolen from the house he had rented from Jan. 25 to Feb. 1.
Arnold did not report the property stolen until 9:05 p.m. ET on Feb. 3, days after the robberies occurred, because he wasn't initially aware anything had been stolen. He also declined to press charges in the larceny of his stolen goods, which included $100,000 in cash he had set aside to gamble at a local casino.
Arnold did accuse a driver he had hired for the vacation ā Yan Lopez ā of being involved in the theft and vowed to sue him. Lopez was among three men who prosecutors alleged Boakai Hilton, who Arnold called "my childhood best friend" in a recorded interview with police, robbed and beat in a case of street justice.
Hilton is charged with three counts of felony robbery, three counts of felony kidnapping and one felony count each of conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit kidnapping. Arianna Del Valle, Jasmine Randazzo, Lyndell Hudson, Christion Williams and Freddie Hughes all face life in prison on similar charges.
Arnold has not been charged with a crime and has denied any involvement through his attorney. He also declined to comment on the matter at a charity event he hosted for 25 kids with incarcerated parents.
"I feel like the situation's being handled," Arnold said. "I'm here to support the kids and my mindset is being the best player I can be for my team. I've had surgery now, I'm on pace to make a full recovery and I'm just working on trying to be the best teammate I can be for my teammates and get ready for a big year this year."
Arnold claimed he stayed only two nights at his Largo rental but that Lopez was there before he arrived. Lopez confirmed in a police interview he had been at the rental earlier in the week.
The Free Press interviewed neighbors of Arnold's rental who revealed there were "pretty wild parties" happening at the house throughout the stay. The neighbors expressed concerns about drug use, with one saying, "she believed drug use was occurring as she could smell marijuana and saw people snorting a substance while inside."
Arnold's associates, including Boakai Hilton, face multiple felony charges including robbery, kidnapping, and conspiracy.
Arnold reported over $250,000 in cash and goods stolen from the Airbnb he rented.
Arnold did not initially realize anything was stolen and reported the theft days later on February 3.
Arnold plans to sue Yan Lopez, the driver he hired, whom he accused of being involved in the theft.

Meanwhile, several townhouse owners noted "many cars were coming and going from Arnoldās rental the night of the robbery" and that the garage door had been left open at least part of the night.
Lopez estimated in a police interview there had been at least 70 people at the house the night of the robbery, including many he didn't know.
Arnold also acknowledged he didn't know everyone who was at the house. He specifically mentioned that his girlfriend's friends had brought some of their friends over to the house one night after they spent time at the club.
"Iām not really a fan of that," Arnold said in one police interview. "Thatās how people get robbed."
However, Arnold didn't believe any member of that group could have accessed the townhouse and commit the robbery, as they didn't know the entry code for the front door. Lopez did, and Arnold noted his driver had "also invited strangers to the house during the week."
Arnold also opined he believed Lopez had the opportunity to orchestrate the robbery when the Lions cornerback and his friends attended Tangra nightclub in Ybor City.
Arnold noticed the following day his property was missing. He didn't immediately realize it had been stolen ā he thought his girlfriend may have taken some of it or it had been placed in a different rental āuntil his sister contacted him and asked why his phone's location was in Miami.
He became suspicious of Lopez after learning the driver had posted images of the townhouse, some of Arnoldās goods and himself in one of Arnoldās cars, a blue Lamborghini Urus registered to a business in Atlanta, on social media.
"I just know kind of piecing it together, I know this is something that has kind of transpired for a while," Arnold said in one video. "This didnāt just happen. This is almost like, I feel like I got played with."
That's why Arnold accused Lopez of orchestrating the crime and expressed a desire to sue the driver.
"I just want my property back," Arnold said. "I told him, I said after I get my property back Iām going to sue him for everything that happened."
Largo police sought to interview Lopez and his friend Daniel Tenesaca, who Arnold also implicated as a possible suspect in the robbery. Upon arriving at Lopez's residence in Wesley Chapel, Florida, around 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 5, they were met by a detective from the Tampa Police Department.
The detective briefed Largo police on the kidnapping and robbery case he was working, "as he believed our cases were related."
Lopez, Tenesaca and a third, unidentified friend were allegedly lured to Del Valle and Randazzo's shared apartment shortly after midnight Feb. 4, less than an hour after Arnold and friends detailed their missing items to Largo police.
Lopez, Tenesaca and their friend were allegedly pistol-whipped, held at gunpoint and interrogated about their involvement in Arnold's missing property case by a man who jumped out of a closet "holding an AR-style rifle."
Del Valle allegedly filmed the assault on FaceTime.
A police report by Largo's Shane Quick "explained that Freddie [from my case] would show up later and batter them as well. It was believed that Boakai was inside the next room of the apartment and that Terrion was outside in a vehicle. Detective Barnett explained that he was still actively investigating this case, but Yani`s mother had called him after I spoke with her. Detective Barnett advised that Arianna was currently in custody for three counts of kidnapping and three counts of robbery with a firearm."
Prosecutors further alleged in a motion for pretrial detention that Hilton "gave directions to all the co-defendants regarding luring Daniel Tenesaca to the residence and actions to take when he arrived" and later "joined the livestream to watch and direct actions against the victim."
The third victim identified Hilton as being inside the apartment, wearing yellow pajama pants, according to the filing.
Lopez has denied taking Arnold's belongings and, according to a policy report, he said "he believes it was someone in Terrion's inner circle who had taken the items" and "he was attacked to make it look like they were trying to find the items, when it was actually one of them who took everything."
"Thatās all that happened," Lopez said in the 53-minute recording of his interview. "And then Monday, cool. Tuesday, by that Tuesday night going into Wednesday, thatās when we were held hostage."
Hilton, Hughes, Del Valle, Randazzo, Hudson and Williams are scheduled for a jury trial Aug. 17. The Lions will be in the middle of training camp and the NFL preseason at that time.
