Teams are allowed 12 practices throughout a span of 15 school days. While most area teams begin in late April, Rockvale had its spring practice in March.
Neither Riverdale nor Blackman will have a spring scrimmage, with the Warriors losing theirs as part of TSSAA probation and the Blaze electing not to have a scrimmage after being limited to just five practice days because of probation.
Providence Christian, under first-year coach Marty Euverard, was still working on details of his spring practice after the Lions, who have many athletes competing in spring sports, didn't participate last spring.
Here's what to know about area teams leading into spring practice:
Blackman: May 1, 4, 6, 7, 11. No scrimmage.
Eagleville: April 27-30, May 6-8, May 11-14.
La Vergne: May 4, May 6-7, May 11-14. Scrimmage: May 18 at Gallatin, 6 p.m.
MTCS: April 27-28, April 30-May 1, May 4, May 7-8, May 11-12, May 14-15. No scrimmage.
Oakland: April 28-30, May 4-8, May 11-13. Scrimmage: May 14 at Lipscomb Academy, 6:30 p.m.
PCA: TBA.
Riverdale: April 20-23, April 27-29, May 4-7. No scrimmage.
Rockvale: Completed in March.
Siegel: April 27-May 12. Scrimmage: May 13 vs. Brentwood.
Smyrna: April 27-30, May 4-7, May 11-14. Purple and Gold game: May 7, 2:30 p.m. Scrimmage: May 15 at Lebanon, 6 p.m.
Stewarts Creek: April 30-May 1, May 4-7, May 11-14. Scrimmage: May 15 at Independence, 5:30 p.m.

Three area coaches will get a first look at their new squads during spring practice.
Blackman coach Will Hester, Stewarts Creek coach Steven Reese and Providence Christian coach Marty Euverard will officially begin their tenures at their new schools.
Hester was hired on Jan. 15 to replace Matt Kriesky, Reese was hired on Jan. 23 to replace Ben Caudill. Euverard took over at PCA on March 5, replacing Lebron Ferguson.
There has been plenty of transfer activity in the Murfreesboro area during the offseason, and more could be expected in June.
Among area standouts who will be fitting in with their new teams are running backs Jacob Vaughn (Oakland) and Jamarcus Brown (Rockvale), wide receivers Brylan Oduor (Riverdale) and Gavin Johnson (Riverdale), defensive backs Kingston McQueen (Rockvale) and Dallas Johnson (Rockvale) and tight end Sutton Gutting (Riverdale).
