Jon-Eric Sullivan has been appointed as the Miami Dolphins' new general manager, while Jeff Hafley takes on the role of head coach. They both attended a news conference on January 22, 2026, to discuss their visions for the team and engage with the fan base.

At the beginning of last week, I asked the following question:
If you could have a face-to-face with the new general manager, Jon-Eric Sullivan, and the new head coach, Jeff Hafley, what would you inform them about the franchise, the fan base, the city, etc., that you think they need to know/understand to be successful? Additionally, what would you ask them about their plans or anything else related to their new roles as the Miami Dolphinsâ general manager/head coach?
Below are some of your thoughts and answers-
PhinsTifosi believes that they look too much alike.
That they look like twins
SuperG! responds to PhinsTifosi, believing it all has to do with their hair.
Didnât they say they had the same barber when they were in Green Bay?
The Earl just wants to get a first-hand look.
I would ask them to let me sit in on scouting/draft sessions to see how they see things. That would be fascinating.
Phins1972 wants to ask if they will scapegoat for Willis and what sort of production from him in 2026 would warrant possibly spending a first on a quarterback in 2027.
Iâd ask them whether, if Willis struggles, they plan to excuse it by pointing to the weak offensive line or the lack of weapons. And, parenthetically, Iâd ask what level of performance from Willis would convince them to use their 2027 firstâround pick on one of the quarterback prospects expected to be available.
finfanfromsiam, in response to Phins1972, believes that a new QB is coming in 2027, but that 2026âs production will determine where that QB is picked.
I think regardless of Willisâ outcome in â26, they draft a QB in â27. Where will depend on how they view Willis after â26 season.
sdphinsfan just wants the chance to eavesdrop.
I donât know that Iâve got a question per seâŠbut Iâd love to be a fly on the wall in their scouting meetings. What criteria are they prioritizing when they do player evaluations? Weâll see that soon enough when they go on the clockâŠ.
Lefty5150 has some info that they would like to pass on.
To Hafley: Authority is absolute. You cannot waiver in Miami
To JES: I have a couple of under the radar prospects for you.
twinssdfan just wants to win!
One thing i noticed by looking at the picture, Dang they almost look the same are you Twins?
Just get the right players and Win.
Well, we didnât have a whole ton of questions. Perhaps I should revisit this question after the season, as I am sure there will be a lot more to say and many more questions to ask once we see what these two bring to the table. If you missed the original post and have something that you would like to ask or convey to the new general manager and/or the new head coach, please let us know in the comments section below. As always, thank you to each one of you who took the time to participate in our Phinsider Question Of The Day post. We will return tomorrow night with another question of the day post from our âRealinment Editionâ.
