Experts Share Predictions for Eagles' 23rd Pick in 2026 NFL Draft
David Benavidez will fight Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramirez in May for the WBO cruiserweight title in Las Vegas. Benavidez aims to become a three-weight world champion in this highly anticipated match.
May will bring a tantalising title fight between David Benavidez and Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez, as Benavidez aims to become a three-weight world champion.
In a Las Vegas main event, Ramirez puts his WBO cruiserweight title on the line against Benavidez, a former super-middleweight champion who is now moving up from light-heavyweight.
The unbeaten Benavidez (31-0, 25 KOs) will enter this fight on the back of a bullying stoppage of Anthony Yarde in November, while his Mexican opponent Ramirez (48-1, 30 KOs) last fought in June and outpointed Yuniel Dorticos.

Benavidez, 29, had set his sights on light-heavyweight stars Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev, but Bivol’s next fight is set and a trilogy between the Russian and his compatriot Beterbiev is still on the cards. So, the American is climbing up to take on Ramirez, 34, who would arguably prove his biggest scalp yet – though the same would be true of Benavidez, if southpaw Zurdo can hand him his first loss.
