Brazil are hoping to put recent World Cup disappointments behind them at the 2026 finals in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The five-time world champions, who won their most recent title back in 2002, have failed to get beyond the quarterfinal stage in the five tournaments since.
Carlo Ancelotti is now in charge and entrusted with delivering the same sort of success he has managed throughout a glittering coaching career at club level.
The Italian tactician already has a good idea of the players he will call up for the 2026 tournament, but there are a few unknowns as we approach the announcement date, including whether Neymar could yet be involved.
Here are the key details on when Brazil's final roster will be known.

Brazil's final roster is set to be announced on Monday, May 18, at a special event at the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro at 3 p.m. ET.
Media, sponsors and "special guests" will be in attendance when Ancelotti names his squad list.
As per FIFA regulations, competing teams at the World Cup must submit a provisional squad of players by May 11, and their final, whittled-down list no later than May 30.
The final squad must contain at least 23 players and no more than 26. Ancelotti is expected to call up 26 players, according to the CBF. The only other stipulation is that at least three of these players must be goalkeepers.
The Italian has a core of players who are almost certain to be on the final list, such as the experienced trio of Alisson, Marquinhos and Casemiro. A few places remain up for grabs, though, particularly in attack and at full-back.
Up to 27 team officials will complete the travelling party.
Neymar's involvement has been the subject of intense speculation. The forward returned to Santos for this year, partly with a view to earning a place in Ancelotti's plans, but he was overlooked for the March internationals due to a lack of fitness.
Santos has struggled for results and Neymar has often borne the brunt of the criticism. This has led to various flashpoints, with fans jeering him at the stadium and an altercation with Robinho Jr. in training, which prompted Neymar to apologise.
Neymar was included on the provisional World Cup roster, according to reports.
Teams are allowed to make a change to their squad due to injury or illness up to 24 hours before their first scheduled game of the tournament. Medical proof of the reason behind the withdrawal must be sent to FIFA for approval.
Brazil's Group C opener against Morocco is on June 13 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, meaning any replacements would have to be arranged by June 12. After that, the squad is set for the tournament.
The one exception concerns goalkeepers: if any of the three are injured or ill and have to withdraw, they can be replaced by another keeper from the provisional list at any stage of the competition (again, subject to FIFA ratifying the change).
Brazil will be based in New Jersey for the World Cup.
The team will stay at The Ridge hotel in Basking Ridge, an upmarket venue that is "private" and "offers every comfort", the CBF said.
Their training will take place at New York Red Bulls' brand new Columbia Park Training Center in Morristown, New Jersey. The 80-acre, $100 million facility was described by the club as "the most innovative soccer training facility in North America" when it was opened in March.
