The 2026 NFL draft, the 91st edition of the event, is coming up soon in Pittsburgh. The event will feature a main stage outside Acrisure Stadium, as well as fan events through Point State Park.

In addition to 32 picks per round, 33 compensatory draft picks were awarded to bring the total number of draft picks to 257.

One significant change in 2026 is the reduction of time between first round selections from 10 minutes to eight, a move that could save a little over an hour if every team were to push the limit in making selections. The time in later rounds is unchanged.

When is the 2026 NFL draft?

The draft begins at 6 p.m. MT on Thursday, April 23, with Round 1. Rounds 2 and 3 take place Friday, April 24, with Coverage starting at 5 p.m. MT. The end of the draft, rounds 4-7, starts Saturday, April 25, at 10 a.m. MT.
