Cameron Boozer is likely to be selected by the Utah Jazz with the second pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. The Washington Wizards are expected to take AJ Dybantsa first overall.

In 2004, after two seasons in the NBA, Carlos Boozer was traded to the Utah Jazz, where he spent seven seasons playing in Salt Lake City.
Now, 22 years later, there’s a good chance that his son, Cameron, will become a member of the Jazz organization.
Utah won the second pick in the upcoming 2026 NBA Draft, with the Washington Wizards getting the top pick. If things hold as expected, the Wizards will select BYU’s AJ Dybantsa and Boozer, the 2026 Wooden Award winner as a freshman at Duke, will go to the Jazz.
It was a battle for the NBA teams in the lottery to get to the top four, where Dybantsa, Boozer, Kansas’ Darryn Peterson and UNC’s Caleb Wilson are considered the four de facto four picks.
In his updated mock draft following the lottery, USA TODAY Sports’ Bryan Kalbrosky has Boozer going to the Jazz with the second overall pick, stating, “Duke freshman Cameron Boozer was dominant during his first NCAA season, earning national collegiate player of the year honors. The ACC Player of the Year isn’t a human highlight reel, but he offers consistency and a diverse, impactful skill set.”
The first round of the 2026 NBA Draft takes place on June 23rd in Brooklyn.
