The Florida State Seminoles softball team dropped to No. 12 in Softball America's Week 11 rankings after being swept by Stanford, ending their 25-game winning streak. They are now 36-7 overall and will face North Carolina in their next series.
The Florida State Seminoles softball team is no longer perfect. They were swept by the Stanford Cardinal over the weekend, suffering their first ACC series loss of the season and seeing their 25-game winning streak come to an end.
The Seminoles plummeted six spots in Softball America's Week 11 Top 25, and are now the No. 12 team in the country. They are 36-7 overall and 12-3 in conference play.
FSU hammered Santa Clara 11-3 on Wednesday to start the week in California. They lost Game One to Stanford 9-8, with the Cardinal winning on a walk-off grand slam. They then fell 7-2 on Saturday before losing 6-5 on Sunday on another walk-off.
FSU does not have a midweek game and will return to action on Friday when they host the North Carolina Tar Heels for a three-game series. The Tar Heels are 30-11 and 9-9 in ACC play.
For the first time this season, the Seminoles are not the highest-ranked ACC team in the poll, with No. 10 Virginia Tech just ahead of them. No. 14 Duke, No. 21 Stanford, and No. 25 Louisville give the ACC five teams in the top 25. All seven of FSU's losses have come against ranked opponents.
