With the Jets rookie minicamp taking place over the weekend, the Jets confirmed 12 undrafted free agent signings they brought in to supplement general manager Darren Mougey’s second draft class.
Last season, plenty of undrafted rookies ended up seeing action with the Jets, including quarterback Brady Cook, who started down the stretch. Defensive tackle Payton Page also made it onto the roster and there were also promising additions at the wide receiver and defensive back positions.
Let’s break down some of the potential contributors from this year’s signings:
Lacy was the highest ranked player of all the undrafted signings for the Jets, according to Scouts Inc., and the Jets reportedly gave him more guaranteed money than anyone else as well. That usually means they intend to retain him on the practice squad at the very least.
Although he is only 5-foot-9 and 183 pounds and posted disappointing workout numbers during the pre-draft process, Lacy had a productive college career, which saw him rack up over 1,300 receiving yards as a teammate of current Jets receiver Jamaal Pritchett in 2023. He was also a return game threat on both punts and kickoffs, as he had four touchdowns in his career and led the ACC in punt return average last season.
Hill was regarded as Colorado’s best draft prospect this year, having also previously played for both Memphis and LSU. However, he still went undrafted despite impressing with a 40-yard dash clocked at under five seconds and a 30-inch vertical jump at his pro day.
Most scouts believe Hill will be an interior lineman at the NFL level and he’s been practicing at all three interior positions, having previously displayed versatility by starting at both guard and tackle in college.
The Jets signed 12 undrafted free agents, with specific players like Caullin Lacy from Louisville being highlighted as potential contributors.
The Jets focused on enhancing their roster with signings at wide receiver, defensive back, and other key positions.
Last season, standout undrafted rookies included quarterback Brady Cook and defensive tackle Payton Page, both of whom made significant contributions.
The rookie minicamp is crucial for undrafted free agents as it provides them an opportunity to showcase their skills and secure a spot on the team.

Trayanum was a rotational back for Arizona State, Ohio State and Kentucky before transferring to Toledo ahead of the 2025 season. He ended up with over 1,000 rushing yards in a breakout season, adding a career-high 21 receptions.
Although he’s an older prospect at 24 years old, Trayanum is a big back who showcased some good athleticism at 224 lbs by running a 4.50 in the 40-yard dash and posting a 37-inch vertical jump at his pro day.
Bamba was a backup for most of his college career and never posted an interception. However, he put up some spectacular workout numbers at his pro day when he ran a 4.29 in the 40-yard dash and posted a 133-inch broad jump to draw some interest from NFL teams.
At 6-foot-2, Bamba has the kind of measurables that would make him the kind of raw project the Jets will hope they can develop into something. He was used as a punt gunner at times during his four years at BYU and that could be somewhere he could stand out.
Voorhis is a little undersized and posted disappointing workout numbers during the pre-draft process. However, he had a breakout year in 2025, as he placed second in the Mid-American Conference with 12 sacks. The Jets will be eager to see if he can build on that production and develop under defensive line coach Karl Dunbar.
After not making much of an impact in two seasons at UConn, Voorhis dropped down a level to get more playing time with the Bryant Bulldogs of the FCS and registered five sacks in 11 games to earn himself the shot with Ball State.
The Jets addressed a special teams need with two Cougars teammates who each should have a realistic chance of making New York’s final roster in August.
Ferrin will compete with the inexperienced Lenny Krieg and former 2022 fourth-round pick Cade York, who is already on his seventh NFL team. Some analysts thought the Jets might draft a kicker, but they opted to bring Ferrin in as an undrafted free agent after he made 82 percent of his field goal attempts and 99 percent of his extra point attempts in college.
Grimes, who is a very good athlete, could challenge the longest-tenured Jet, Thomas Hennessy, who will be seeking to hold onto the long snapper role for the 10th straight season. Even if Hennessy hangs onto the role for 2026, he’ll be 33 by the start of next season so the Jets could hold onto Grimes and look to groom him to be Hennessy’s successor.
