Anderson haunts Newcastle to rescue draw for Forest
Elliot Anderson scores late equalizer to secure draw for Nottingham Forest against Newcastle
Four Michigan football players signed as undrafted free agents after the 2026 NFL Draft, with varying chances of making NFL rosters. TJ Guy appears to have the best shot with the Baltimore Ravens, while Donaven McCulley faces significant challenges with the Miami Dolphins.
Honestly, it seems like TJ Guy might have a solid shot at making the roster in Baltimore. He’s got familiarity with former Michigan defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, who’s now the head coach for the Ravens. Guy finished his career with 66 tackles, including 12.5 tackles for loss and 10 sacks. While those might not be eye popping stats, he may have been underutilized in a defensive system that felt out of sync for much of last season. Minter is a defensive mastermind who coached Guy at Ann Arbor, so he’s got to think Guy has something that could help the Ravens out. It wouldn’t be too surprising to see Guy work his way onto the roster in the fall.
While Dominic Zvada never played for Jim Harbaugh, it’s tough to imagine the Harbaugh brothers didn’t notice Zvada’s abilities the last two seasons. The Giants did sign in March, but Zvada has a leg and has shown he can come in clutch. While he struggled in 2026, Zvada was nearly automatic in 2025 at Michigan. It’s not guaranteed he’ll make a roster, but it wouldn’t be surprising to have him impress enough to get offered a spot on the roster.

Ahead of the NFL Draft, the Chiefs focused on a need to improve their defensive line. While they picked up a defensive lineman in the first round, they’re still looking to add some stability to the position. Damon Payne Jr. played in all 13 of Michigan’s games last year and ended the season with 16 tackles, including two for a loss. Ahead of playing for the Wolverines, Payne played at Alabama where he registered 30 tackles, including two tackles for loss and half a sack. Payne isn’t necessarily the flashiest choice, but it’s clear the Chiefs still feel uneasy about what they have on their defensive line. He would really need to impress if he wants to get on the roster. While it’s not a safe bet, it is certainly a possibility.
Out of all the UDFAs, Donaven McCulley might have the hardest time making the roster. The Dolphins are in the midst of a retooling after signing quarterback Malik Willis in March. It’s possible McCulley can make an impression during camp, as the number of receiving options is pretty low in Miami at the moment, but his lack of utilization in his final season at Indiana, along with Michigan’s struggles in the passing game in 2025, aren’t things that are in his favor.
