East playoffs: Donovan Mitchell and the Cavs cruise past Raptors
Cavs cruise past Raptors in playoff debut for Harden
As the Philadelphia 76ers get set to take on the Boston Celtics in Round 1 of the playoffs beginning on Sunday, there will be a lot of factors on either side in this one to account for. The Sixers and the Celtics are both talented, and with Joel Embiid sidelined for Philadelphia, others will need to step up.
With that being said, who is the biggest X-Factor for Philadelphia? Who can swing this series in favor of the Sixers if they play well consistently enough?
Sixers Wire is looking squarely at Quentin Grimes. Set to become an unrestricted free agent in the upcoming offseason, he averaged 13.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.3 assists while shooting 33.4% from deep in 75 games. If Grimes is going to step up and produce at a high level, that can help Philadelphia in this series.
In four games against the Celtics, he averaged 12.3 points and 3.5 assists while shooting 38.1% from deep. That 3-point percentage is going to be such a key factor as the Sixers head into this series. Boston relies heavily on its bench unit as guys like Payton Pritchard, Baylor Scheierman, Nikola Vucevic, and others. If Grimes can step in and produce at a high level, it changes things for the Sixers in a number of ways.
