Dave McGinnis is leaving his role as the analyst on Titans Radio, creating a significant vacancy. His unique ability to explain the game leaves big shoes to fill for his successor.
Titans Radio broadcasters Mike Keith, Rhett Bryan and Dave McGinnis call the Titans game against the Vikings Nissan Stadium for their radio broadcast during the game Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, in Nashville, Tenn. Nas Titans Radio 001
There is really no replacing Dave McGinnis in the play-by-play booth on Titans Radio. His ability to explain the game to people listening was second to none. He leaves big shoes to fill as the analyst for Titans games – not to mention all of the other things he did throughout the week, both with the media and for the people he was around.
Titans Radio has had some of the best analysts in the business. Pat Ryan was alongside Mike Keith for the Music City Miracle call. “He’s got something! He’s got something! He’s got it!” is part of what make Keith’s call of that play so iconic.
The late Frank Wycheck replaced Ryan and was also fantastic on the call. He and Keith had a special chemistry that you could just feel as you listened on gameday.
Paul Kuharsky did a video with his list of guys who could potentially replace Coach Mac. Keith Bulluck weighed in, saying he would be interested in the job. Any of the guys there has the potential to be really good. One guy not listed there that I expect to get a look is Ramon Foster. He’s not a former Titan, but he works for the flagship station, spent last year as the analyst for the Tennessee Volunteers alongside Keith, and has worked for Titans Radio as a sideline reporter before.
As I said above, there is no replacing Coach Mac. As Jonathan Hutton likes to say, Mac was one of one.
Who is your favorite to be the next analyst for Titans Radio?
Previous analysts on Titans Radio include Pat Ryan and the late Frank Wycheck, both known for their exceptional chemistry with play-by-play announcer Mike Keith.
Dave McGinnis was renowned for his ability to explain the game effectively to listeners, making him a vital part of the Titans Radio team.
As of now, there is no official announcement regarding who will replace Dave McGinnis on Titans Radio.
