With a 9-19 record, New York now has the worst start to a season since 1983, having been swept in four of their last five series and scoring zero or one run in 10 games.
That will not get it done for a team that clearly had high expectations heading into the season, despite the departure of Silver Slugger Pete Alonso.
One common question many ask is what has made the Mets such a bad team through 28 games, but it has more than one simple answer.
