The New York Knicks are riding high during the NBA postseason and wanted to celebrate locally after a huge win against the Philadelphia 76ers.
While most nightlife venues in the world would love to welcome the Knicks (or any NBA team) following a playoff victory, that was not the case in New York earlier this week. According to a report, "several" players on the roster tried to attend a Met Gala afterparty at Zero Bond.
The event was hosted by singers Sabrina Carpenter (who once wore a bedazzled Phillies jersey on stage) and Madonna and, per TMZ, was exclusive enough to not have room for the NBA stars.

"Multiple sources tell TMZ … several Knicks stars tried to hit up Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter's ultra-exclusive bash at Zero Bond late Monday night -- just hours after their Game 1 playoff win -- but couldn't get past the door … We're told the party, held on the club's main 5th floor, was locked down tight with a strict guest list capped at around 200 people … even though the space can hold nearly double that."
The report indicated that Carpenter and Madonna wanted to keep "the vibe intentionally intimate" for this evening. TZM added that the block was "shut down" and "heavily guarded" for this event, which began at 1 a.m. a few hours after the victory.
Among those who did attend include names like Kendall Jenner as well as Jeff Bezos and Serena Williams.
While this may have felt slightly awkward, the Knicks assuredly found somewhere else to go and would warmly welcome Carpenter at Madison Square Garden if she was ever interested in attending a game on celebrity row.
