The New York Mets are making a change.
They're bringing up promising hitting prospect A.J. Ewing from Triple-A Syracuse, according to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo.
The 21-year old outfielder has played just 13 games at Triple-A, but he's hit better than .300 at both Double-A and Triple-A this season and now he's coming to the major leagues.
Ewing was ranked a top-100 prospect before this season began by both Baseball America and MLB Pipeline.
His time has arrived quicker than most expected.

The Mets felt they had no choice.
Their season is going off the rails, and this isn't a small-market team that can decide to rebuild. This is the expensive Mets.
They had to find a solution, and they're hoping Ewing can help wake their lineup up.

It's no guarantee to work, and maybe it's not the perfect plan for Ewing's development, but it's the best idea the Mets have at the moment.
"It's an aggressive promotion after just 13 games at Triple-A, but all Ewing has done is hit," DiComo wrote on X. "Perhaps he can help an offense that still has yet to hit its stride."
If Ewing doesn't work, it'll probably be either a trade or bust.
But if the kid can hit the ground running, maybe the Mets can start turning this season around.
