The 2026 NFL Draft will come to a halt on Friday when the Chicago Bears are on the clock in the second round because of a well-known western Pennsylvania company.
Heinz, the company known for its ketchup and other condiments, will be naming a “Mr. 57” in honor of the player who is selected with the 57th overall pick in the draft. The name is a play on the “Heinz 57 logo” that is on the labels of its products.
Whoever is named “Mr. 57” will receive a few perks, including a new red jacket with the “Mr. 57” patch and a lifetime supply of ketchup.
Heinz is also getting Pro Football Hall of Famer and former Bears kick returner and wide receiver Devin Hester in on the presentation. Hester was the 57th overall selection in the 2006 draft.
“I was the 57th pick in my draft and it worked out pretty well,” Hester said in a video on social media. “This year. Heinz is starting a new tradition. Today, the 57th pick will be inducted into the Mr. 57 Club. So, to the player about to be drafted, welcome to the club.”
The Heinz presentation will not be the only drafted player to be celebrated in this year’s draft. The last player selected in the draft will earn the title of “Mr. Irrelevant” and will be named on Saturday afternoon. Currently, the Denver Broncos hold the draft spot with the 257th selection.
The person selected as “Mr. Irrelevant” will be celebrated for a week, receiving perks including the Lowsman Trophy, which is considered the opposite of the Heisman Trophy, a trip to Disneyland and other events in the player’s honor.
