After losing Malik Willis in free agency to the Miami Dolphins,ย the Packers signed both Kyle McCord and Desmond Ridder to compete for the backup job behind Love.
The problem with those two is neither one could make most rosters in the NFL, let alone be a reliable backup for Love.
Ridder has been well-traveled since being a third-round pick in 2022 and has failed at every stop. Meanwhile, McCord has never played an NFL snap.
Taylor has more experience in his pinky finger than McCord and Ridder have in their bodies combined.
The veteran signal-caller has proven time and time again he can keep a team afloat if a starter gets hurt, and that's exactly what a playoff-contending team like Green Bay needed.
Now, the Packers don't have to worry about an injury to Love derailing their season.
