The Colorado Rockies have made multiple bullpen signings over the past few days.
Just yesterday, the NL West club agreed to a minor league contract with former Toronto Blue Jays All-Star closer Jordan Romano.
Today, they've signed another veteran reliever who was most recently pitching in Mexico for the LMB's Algodoneros del Unión Laguna.
Right-hander Erasmo Ramirez's former club announced his new deal with the Rockies on Wednesday.
Ramirez, 36, is a 14-year veteran who can eat innings in Colorado's bullpen. He's also made 96 starts in his career since debuting in 2012 with the Seattle Mariners.
The Rockies are looking to strengthen their bullpen, and the veteran reliever adds experience and depth to their roster.
The new reliever has a career ERA of 4.34 and has previously played for the Rays and Mariners before his stint in Mexico.
In addition to the new reliever, the Rockies recently signed former Blue Jays All-Star closer Jordan Romano.

"Ramirez opened the season in Mexico and was hit hard, surrendering 11 runs on 17 hits and a pair of walks with nine punchouts in a dozen innings," Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors wrote. "Poor small-sample results notwithstanding, the Rockies were clearly intrigued by Ramirez’s stuff. He’ll hope to pitch his way into what would be a 15th season with some big league experience."
The Rockies have nothing to lose by making this deal. Sure, Ramirez doesn't have the best stuff, evident by his 4.34 career ERA, but he's thrown over 800 innings in the Majors.
Colorado could simply cut ties with the Nicaraguan native if things don't work out the way they hope.
