Why Jets drafted David Bailey instead of Arvell Reese at No. 2 in NFL Draft
Jets draft David Bailey instead of Arvell Reese at No. 2 in NFL Draft
The Seattle Seahawks may not stay at No. 32 in the 2026 NFL draft due to various factors influencing their pick. Potential trade scenarios and player evaluations suggest they might opt to move back for better options.
With under two hours till the beginning of the 2026 NFL draft, here are reasons the Seattle Seahawks wouldnât stand pat at No. 32 to pick the following players.
My favorite choices would be Jermod McCoy and Keylan Rutledge. Jadarian Price and Colton Hood lead the betting odds and mock drafts. Iâve also written about Treydan Stukes as a potential fit this week. However, the last pick is the hardest to predict, with the most variables depending on other picks. There can never be too much speculation, so here are some final names- and why the Seahawks would rather trade back than pick them at No. 32.
Oklahoma EDGE R Mason Thomas is extremely light. He has real pass-rush juice in his speed, which the Seahawks seek to replace Boye Mafe. He could fill that âFastballâ role in the rotation. However, itâs unlikely any of the teams at the top of the second-round would take him. If he were who the Seahawks want, theyâd trade back into the middle of the second round.
Clemson CB Avieon Terrell was the easy favorite for this pick in March. Since then, his testing went as poorly as any prospect in the draft at his pro day. Heâs now in the middle of the second round discussion. There are other players that could fill his role and tons of second-round DBs of all types, so the Seahawks could trade back and still get him or a similar player in the middle of the second as well.
San Diego State CB Chris Johnson has been heralded as a first-round player by many, but regarded as having a second-round ceiling by others. The Seahawks did bring him in for a top 30 visit, but donât have a strong correlation between their visits and picks. They hosted tons of offensive lineman last year, but not Grey Zabel, who they ended up taking 18th overall. If they like him enough, he ticks more boxes to go first round than either Thomas or Terrell. If McCoy and Hood are gone, this is one of the few they might stick and pick at No. 32.
The top prospects include Jermod McCoy, Keylan Rutledge, Jadarian Price, and Colton Hood.
The Seahawks could trade back to secure better value and still acquire a player like Avieon Terrell, who has seen his draft stock fluctuate.
Mason Thomas is considered too light for the position, which raises concerns about his fit, leading the Seahawks to consider trading back to select him.
