EFL reveal 'Spygate' hearing timescale
Southampton's fate in the Championship play-offs hangs in the balance as EFL hearing is set for May 19.
The Dallas Cowboys will face the Philadelphia Eagles on Thanksgiving Day in 2026, marking their first matchup against them on this holiday since 2014. This game is part of the Cowboys' ongoing tradition of playing divisional rivals on Thanksgiving.
All of the fun and games involved with predicting the Dallas Cowboys 2026 schedule are nearly over, as the full schedule will be revealed today. When it is, there will be at least a few dates that come as no surprise, as theyâve already been confirmed through leaks. Two of these games are matchups against their division rivals, including their annual Thanksgiving Day home game.
We know the Cowboys will begin the 2026 season in the same place the 2025 season came to an anticlimactic end, at the New York Giants for Sunday Night Football. This will also (bare with us here) mark the second straight season that Cowboys fans are âwaiting all day for Sunday nightâ to begin the season. Last year the waiting was actually on a Thursday night for the NFL kickoff game at the Philadelphia Eagles, yet in TV terms this still counts as a presentation of NBCâs SNF. Speaking of the reigning-division champion Eagles, their annual trip to AT&T Stadium will come on Thanksgiving this year.
The Cowboys will play the Eagles on Thanksgiving for the first time since 2014, looking for their first ever Turkey Day win against Philadelphia
Thanksgiving 2026 will be the fourth time in five seasons the Cowboys play a divisional opponent on Thanksgiving. Two of these previous three were against the Giants in 2022 and 2024, turkey sandwiched around a 2023 win against the Washington Commanders.
2014 was the last time the Cowboys hosted the NFC East version of birds on a holiday centered around cooking a bird. It was unfortunately the home team getting cooked in the 2014 version of this game though, as the Eagles won 33-10.
The only other Cowboys versus Eagles Thanksgiving game was also lopsided for the visitor, a 27-0 win in a game with a name. Buddy Ryanâs Eagles won the âBounty Bowlâ in shutout fashion against a Cowboys team that finished the season 1-15 in Jerry Jonesâ first season as owner. The Cowboys were shutout three times that season, with the final one coming two weeks after Thanksgiving to the Giants, the week after being swept by the Eagles on the road.
The Cowboys will play the Eagles on Thanksgiving Day in 2026.
This will be the first time the Cowboys play the Eagles on Thanksgiving since 2014.
The game is significant as it continues the Cowboys' tradition of playing divisional opponents on Thanksgiving, and they aim for their first win against the Eagles on this holiday.
In recent years, the Cowboys played the Giants in 2022 and 2024, and the Washington Commanders in 2023.

Two games, two losses by a combined score of 60-10. The Cowboys are looking for a 2026 renewal with many national pundits thinking they are trending upwards. The Eagles are a team with the opposite sentiment â there is legitimate concern the Nick Sirianni/Jalen Hurts coaching/QB duo has already been reached its pinnacle. The NFL sure knows how to create maximum drama in games guaranteed to draw a ton of eyeballs, which Cowboys games always do anyway, but Thanksgiving is understood to be a whole new level to that.
Last yearâs Eagles at Cowboys game shows the immediate potential in this game. The Cowboys completed a 21-point comeback by holding the Eagles scoreless over the final 42 minutes of play, a Herculean effort by a defense that otherwise was the reason this team didnât contend for the playoffs, and won the game at the buzzer on a Brandon Aubrey field goal. The win capped off a season series where the Cowboys went toe-to-toe with the Eagles, losing the season opener 24-20.
Another cool thing about the Cowboys Week 12 win against the Eagles last season was how it set them up to do something for the first time in franchise history four days later, on last yearâs Thanksgiving. After beating the Eagles, the Cowboys went on to beat the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving. They became the first team in league history to beat both of the previous seasonâs Super Bowl participants in a span of five days, and just the fourth overall. The other instances of this happening came with the 1982 Chargers, 1985 Lions, and 2016 Falcons.
Thereâs no doubt whatsoever these two wins were the high-point of an otherwise up and down season, as part of a greater three-game win streak which was actually the only winning streak of the entire season. All of the wins came in a spotlight, beating the Raiders on Monday Night Football, Eagles on FOXâs Americaâs Game of the Week, and Chiefs on Thanksgiving.
This win streak started right as the Cowboys introduced Quinnen Williams, brought in via a trade with the Jets, to the defensive lineup. Having Williams for a full season in a completely revamped defense is now one of the most exciting things to look forward to for the Cowboys in 2026.
When it comes to the looming Thanksgiving visit from the Eagles on the defensive side of the ball, there is, of course, the juiciness of Christian Parker coaching against his former team and Vic Fangio, who has brought Parker along as a trusted assistant at multiple spots in the league.
The Cowboys have won seven of their last eight at home against the Eagles, and if they make it eight of nine on Thanksgiving, theyâll also be making quirky Turkey Day franchise history in back-to-back seasons. Beating the previous yearâs Super Bowl participants in five days in 2025, and finally beating the Eagles on Thanksgiving in 2026. Plus, they can get Bounty Bowl revenge. And Christian Parker will get the win over Vic Fangio. We should also mention again â itâs a division game.
That should be some juicy turkey.
