The Toronto Blue Jays are not living up to expectations after making a trip to the World Series in 2025.
They are 4-6 in their last 10 games and 8.5 games behind the Tampa Bay Rays for first place in the AL East. It's only May 11, however, leaving the Blue Jays with ample time to turn things around.
Toronto's offense has been uncharacteristically below average. FanSided's Tim Boyle questions why Toronto didn't make a more aggressive free agent pitch to a slugger with the Philadelphia Phillies, who signed for $150 million.

"Springer is a free agent after the 2026 season, which would have made this a minor problem," Boyle added. "If they were willing to make past offers as they would’ve needed to for players such as Tucker, Shohei Ohtani, and more, $150 million for Schwarber while relegating Springer to the bench would have been one of the better baseball moves to make."
