Wiegman gives latest Leah Williamson update ahead of Spain clash

Leah Williamson remains a doubt for England’s game against Spain on Tuesday.

The Arsenal defender was called up to the squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Spain and Iceland despite having missed out for her club of late with another injury setback.

And England boss Sarina Wiegman says Williamson’s involvement will be a late decision.

“Leah Williamson is a question mark for tomorrow,” she said.

“She’ll be on the pitch today and we’ll make the decision after this training session.

“She doesn’t have to prove anything. We balance it, we’ve been careful with her. She’s good in the plan, but I don’t want to give anything more away. She’s moving forward well.”
