The biggest question facing every WNBA team in training camp
WNBA training camps open with key questions for each team.
The Baltimore Ravens, known for their conservative trading approach, may consider making a significant trade this offseason to complement star receiver Zay Flowers. With no other pass catcher exceeding 500 yards last season, the team recognizes the need for additional offensive firepower to compete at a higher level.
The Baltimore Ravens donāt typically operate by making splashy trades whether than be during the regular season or the weeks and months that follow. They more build through the draft. They develop. They trust their system.
Occasionally, they add veteran fre-agent targets, but headline-grabbing trades for star wide receivers? That hasnāt really been their style.
It seems doubtful, but maybe this offseason might be different. Everyone knows the need. Zay Flowers has already proven heās a star, but beyond him, the production simply hasnāt been there.
No other Ravens pass catcher eclipsed 500 yards last season, leaving too much pressure on one player to carry the offense. Thereās optimism that Rashod Bateman can bounce back following a disappointing campaign, especially under a new coaching staff. Still, hope isnāt a plan, and Baltimore knows it needs more firepower if it wants to re-enter the AFCās elite tier.
Things have gotten interesting as another NFL Draft approaches. Everyone has their ideas. A recent trade proposal from Bleacher Report floated a bold idea. the Ravens acquiring George Pickens in exchange for this selection meeting's 14th overall selection. Itās the type of move that would immediately change the conversation (and start several others).
Pickens isnāt just another receiver. Heās a proven playmaker coming off a massive season. He's capable of stretching defenses and winning contested catches. Pairing him with Flowers would give Baltimore something it hasnāt had in years, a legitimate one-two punch at wide receiver.
It would also send a message. The Ravens wouldnāt be waiting on development. Theyād be accelerating it. Of course, there are risks. A future first-round pick is a steep price for a team that has traditionally valued draft capital. Baltimore also has other needs to address, and parting with premium assets could limit flexibility down the road.
Then thereās the more likely path.
Baltimore could stay patient and target prospects like Jordyn Tyson or Omar Cooper Jr. in the draft. That approach fits their identity. Itās safer. Itās familiar, but it isn't explosive. This is the fork in the road.
The Ravens can stick to what theyāve always done, or they can take a rare swing and reshape their offense overnight. If they choose to take that swing, it wonāt just be a move. It will be a statement.

The Ravens usually focus on building their team through the draft and developing players rather than making splashy trades.
The Ravens need to trade for a wide receiver because no other pass catcher exceeded 500 yards last season, putting excessive pressure on Zay Flowers.
Zay Flowers is a star receiver for the Ravens, and his performance is crucial as he is currently the only reliable pass catcher on the team.
