The Dallas Cowboys finally have wide receiver George Pickens under contract after months of uncertainty.
According to ESPN's Todd Archer, Pickens has signed his franchise tag with the Cowboys. Dallas placed the tag on Pickens back in February.
"George Pickens has signed the franchise tag, according to a source," Archer said on X.
Pickens signing the tag means he will be in attendance for the Cowboys' offseason workouts, but it also makes him tradeable for the first time in months.
With Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones already stating that the team won't work on a long-term contract with Pickens this offseason, a trade has been mentioned as a possibility.
However, is Dallas actually going to trade their 2025 breakout star? Here's everything we know.
As of right now, it sounds like the Cowboys have no plans to trade Pickens.
During a press conference after Day 1 of the draft last week, Jones said Dallas has no intentions of trading Pickens and the franchise is ecstatic to have him on the roster in 2026.
"We have no intention of moving George [Pickens," Stephen Jones said in the press conference following Day 1 of the NFL Draft via Cowboys.com. We're fired up about him signing his [tag], because it means he's ready to come in here and get to work. ... We have zero intention of moving [him]."
George Pickens signed the franchise tag to ensure his participation in the Cowboys' offseason workouts while also becoming tradeable.
Signing the franchise tag allows George Pickens to remain with the Cowboys for the upcoming season but opens the possibility of a trade.
The Dallas Cowboys placed the franchise tag on George Pickens back in February.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport left the door open for a possible Pickens trade during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday, but he also believes it isn't likely.
"I would be surprised if he's traded but I wouldn't be stunned," Rapoport said.
Overall, all signs point to Pickens remaining with the Cowboys in 2026 on the franchise tag. If the Georgia product posts another dynamic campaign, he'll be set up for a major payday in 2027.
