Although the Pittsburgh Steelers' quarterback position is plagued by major uncertainty, 2025 sixth-rounder Will Howard isn't lacking confidence heading into the 2026 season.
When discussing Aaron Rodgers' future with the Steelers on the Not Just Football with Cam Heyward podcast, Howard assured fans that he's ready for the bright lights of the QB1 position.
"Hey, I'm here, man," Howard said. "I don't know what Aaron's going to do. If he wants to come back, I'd be more than happy to, you know, spend another year learning. But if he doesn't, I'm ready."
Howard, who was selected by the Steelers with the No. 185 overall pick in last year's draft, spent the 2025 season learning behind Rodgers, with some calling for a starting opportunity as soon as this upcoming season.
While he isn't backing down from a challenge, Howard will face competition from the Steelers' newest signal-caller — 2026 NFL Draft third-rounder Drew Allar — in what's shaping up to be an exciting quarterback battle.
