Las Vegas Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty is on track to achieve his first 1,000-yard rushing season in 2026 after finishing with 975 yards in 2025. An improved offense and rookie backup Mike Washington Jr. could help him reach this milestone.
Will Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty go for 1,000-yards in 2026? The second-year back has a great chance to do so.
It won't be a mountain to climb for the Boise State product to achieve the feat. Jeanty went for 975 rushing yards as a rookie in 2025.
Jeanty will be the benefactor of an improved Raiders offense next season. He has rookie Mike Washington Jr. as his backup for next season. Washington has the talent and the running style at 6-foot-1 to be an effective ball-carrier for Las Vegas and take pressure off of Jeanty, who got 266 carries in 2025.
Las Vegas is likely to create opportunities for Washington in the ground game without having to compromise Jeanty's workload next season. With just seven more carries in 2026 and the same 3.66 yards per rush averaged, Jeanty would clear 1,000 yards rushing.
The addition of Tyler Linderbaum at center will be a huge help for Jeanty in creating holes up the middle. These factors figure to have the 22-year-old back improve in his second season in 2026 with more yards per carry, making 1,000 rushing yards in the forecast for him.
Along with the improvements in the run game, Las Vegas will also have more of a passing game in 2026. The Raiders went out and signed Jalen Nailor in free agency and drafted Malik Benson with the No. 195 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
With either Fernando Mendoza or Kirk Cousins under center, the Raiders are in line to have a productive passing attack next season, which will also take some pressure off of Jeanty with a more varied range of defensive coverages thrown the Raiders' way.
