The 2026 NFL draft has significant implications for the Jacksonville Jaguars, highlighting key winners and losers. Players like Chris Rodriguez and Bhayshul Tuten emerged as notable winners from the draft.
What takes place during the NFL draft is going to have a ripple-effect into the upcoming season. With each selection that is made, there are winners and losers.
Following the 2026 NFL draft, who are the big winners and losers for the Jacksonville Jaguars?
Let's dive in.
Many mock drafts not only had the Jaguars picking a running back, but also doing so with a top 100 pick. James Gladstone, however, didn't make an addition at this position in the draft. As expected, this then paves the way for Rodriguez and Tuten to shoulder the workload at this position, while LeQuint Allen continues to see snaps on passing downs.
Of the Jaguars' 10 picks, two of them are tight ends -- Nate Boerkircher and Tanner Koziol. Boerkircher could push Morris for playing time as the team's blocking-first tight end. The combination of Boerkircher and Koziol, paired with Morris and Brenton Strange, could push Long off the roster.
This unit as a whole had to be addressed. Depth and competition for rotational snaps at both the defensive end and tackle positions were needed. Gladstone responded by picking defensive tackle Albert Regis in Round 2, along with then using two picks on Day 3 at the defensive end position.
At pick 88, the Jaguars landed Emmanuel Pregnon, who was one of the best value picks on Day 2 of the draft. Pregnon can provide depth, but a player of his caliber will likely have the opportunity to compete for snaps right away. He will be pushing one of Mekari or Cleveland for playing time.
With the addition of Pregnon, the Jaguars continued to get bigger along the offensive line. Adding Boerkircher at tight end, as mentioned, could create a competition for the blocking-heavy role at the position, not to mention that his presence allows Liam Coen to use more three-tight-end sets -- a growing trend in the NFL. A big priority for the Jaguars this offseason is on becoming a more consistent rushing offense. This draft helped with that.
