The Wisconsin Badgers women's basketball team announced the signing of international star Alicia Courthiau.
The Belgium native comes to Madison with tons of FIBA experience, and most recently was a standout player at Castors Baine.
Courthiau, 20, is a 5-foot-10 guard who finished first at the 2026 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers with Belgium. Back in 2025 she averaged 14.7 points per game at the FIBA U20 Women's Eurobasket.
A three-point performance brought her points per game average down as she scored 20+ in two games and had double digits in six of her seven games. Overall, she shot 59.6% from the field and 61.5% from three-point range.
The Badgers touted her success with Castors Baine where she averaged 13.7 points per game in 2025-26. Officially, Courthiau is the 12th player on Robin Pingeton's roster.
Wisconsin still had an open guard spot in the starting lineup, and that opening could very well go to Courthiau. She's already proven herself on an international stage, so now it's time to see what she can bring to the table in Madison.
