Wisconsin women's basketball player Destiny Howell was not selected in the WNBA Draft, while her former teammate Serah Williams was picked 33rd overall. Howell now hopes for a training camp invite as the WNBA season approaches.
Destiny Howell, a standout from the Wisconsin Badgers 2025-26 women's basketball season, was not selected in the WNBA Draft.
Former Badgers forward Serah Williams was drafted No. 33 overall, but Howell did not hear her name called in the three-round, 45-selection draft.
Now, Howell must sit back and hope she receives an invite to training camp. With the addition of the Toronto Tempo and Portland Fire, Howell has more chances than ever to continue her career at the next level.
WNBA training camp is set to begin on April 19, so there isn't a ton of time before things get rolling. After all, the 2026 season is scheduled to start on May 8, which doesn't even give teams one full month after the draft concludes.
Howell spent her first four seasons at Howard before transferring to Wisconsin. Not only did she lead the Badgers with 14.0 points per game, but the 6-foot guard shot a career best 42.9% from the field and 38.9% from three.
