With 13 players on the roster, the Wisconsin Badgers women's basketball team is beginning to come together.
Replacing Destiny Howell wasn't going to be easy, but soon-to-be second-year head coach Robin Pingeton went out and got a few players who will have huge roles in the 2026-27 season.
Pingeton hasn't exactly finalized her starting lineup, but there's a case to be made for Dorja Iva Zaja to round things out. It's clear their new Belgium point guard Alicia Courthiau will get a ton of playing time, as will transfers Addie Deal (Iowa) and Kadida Toure (Long Island).
Laci Steele's spot in the starting lineup won't change, and it's important to note Iva Zaja is the same height (6-foot-3) as Toure. Should this be Pingeton's starting five, no player would be shorter than 5-foot-10.
Giselle Janowski, Adaline Sheplee, and Leah Nordin are the Badgers' three incoming high school recruits. When looking at their bench, fellow Iowa Hawkeye Teagan Mallegni is the only transfer currently not in a starting role. Pingeton has four bench players listed at 6-foot or taller, so now it's just about putting the pieces together and figuring out what the exact rotation will look like.

The key new players include point guard Alicia Courthiau, along with transfers Addie Deal from Iowa and Kadida Toure from Long Island.
If Robin Pingeton's proposed starting five is finalized, no player would be shorter than 5-foot-10, with Dorja Iva Zaja and Kadida Toure both standing at 6-foot-3.
