Gabby Williams will not return to the Seattle Storm, according to an anonymous source who spoke to Taille 6 Media's Noe Delaunay. The two-time UConn champion will choose between the Las Vegas Aces, the Golden State Valkyries, and Minnesota Lynx during the WNBA Free Agency.

Andraya Carter of ESPN was among the first ones to break down the narrowed list, the destinations that Williams is eyeing are logical choices for a player who has just completed her most successful season.

Williams' value became undeniable last season

Williams made her WNBA All-Star debut in 2025 and topped the steals charts in regular-season games (2.3 per contest). She also was included on the All-Defensive First Team, which only proves what Europe has known for many years.

Williams became a star in Turkey while playing for Fenerbahce. She helped the team win both Super League and Turkish Cup this season, and her defense is the kind that cannot be replicated by any other WNBA team.

These three options make sense on their own because Las Vegas won the championship and is trying to keep the same nucleus around A'ja Wilson.

The newly-created Golden State franchise also had a successful postseason run and is targeting proven players. Minnesota still has Napheesa Collier on its roster and a core that made it to the WNBA Finals recently.

The reason why it's interesting in this case is the priority problem. Williams was open about how the WNBA's policy of ending contracts abroad before joining affects her willingness to play in the league in previous seasons.

Whatever team manages to sign her can feel safe that this time she is fully committed to playing WNBA. After all, that's what she did last season. Williams will hit the market today, April 12.
