Women's Brasileirão A1: Corinthians stay top; Fla, Flu and Inter close in

Corinthians stayed at the top of the Brasileirão Feminino A1 after beating Ferroviária 3-1 in the eighth round at Parque São Jorge. The team reached 19 points, but can still be overtaken by Palmeiras and São Paulo, who both have 16 points and play this Monday (27): Palmeiras faces Santos at 8 p.m. at Allianz Parque, while São Paulo visits América-MG earlier, at 6 p.m., at Independência.

Second-placed Palmeiras and third-placed São Paulo, respectively, can move into first place with a win, provided they also surpass Timão on goal difference — Corinthians has 13, Palmeiras 10, and São Paulo 7. In fourth place, Bahia, with 15 points, faces Grêmio this Tuesday (28) at Arena Cajueiro at 6 p.m.

Also on Monday (27), black-and-white rivals Atlético-MG and Botafogo face off at 9 p.m. at Arena MRV.

With their eyes on the top of the table, Flamengo, Fluminense and Internacional claimed all three points this round and showed they want to fight for the top spots. Flamengo beat Vitória 3-1 at Luso-Brasileiro and now has 15 points. Fluminense, after a 2-0 win over Mixto-MT at Dutrinha, and Internacional, which defeated Juventude 1-0 at Sesc Campestre, are level on 14 points.
