Women's U17 South American: Brazil face Peru on Friday, eye semi spot

The Brazil Women’s U-17 National Team will face Peru this Friday (1) at 8 p.m. (Brasília time) at Estádio Ameliano Villeta in Paraguay. The match, valid for the fourth round of the South American Women’s U-17 group stage, will be broadcast live on SporTV.

“Expectations are very high. We want to play an excellent match to earn the three points and secure our place in the semifinal,” said forward Leticia Pinho.

“The expectation is for another good match, one where we impose our identity on the field. It’s the third game in which everyone will get to see Brazil, and we’ll be able to put our strengths into practice once again. I hope we come away with a win and with a performance that makes an impact once again,” said head coach Rilany Silva.

Brazil comes into the match off two important wins. In the opener, they defeated Venezuela 2-0 with goals from Gigi and Mari Gigante. The second match was closely contested, but the Canarinho beat Uruguay 5-3. Nicolly (2), Helena, Gigi, and Mari Gigante found the net.

Peru, meanwhile, arrives with a poor record, having lost to Uruguay (3-0) and drawn with Ecuador (1-1).
