Jackson Koivun, the world's No. 1 amateur, won his third consecutive SEC title, setting a new scoring record at 19-under 191. This victory marks his sixth win of the spring semester and ties him for the third-lowest total score in college golf history.
Jackson Koivun is in the midst of one of the most dominant stretches in college golf history.
The world's No. 1 amateur, a junior at Auburn, won his third straight SEC individual title on Friday at Sea Island in St. Simons Island, Georgia. The victory was his sixth of the spring semester in eight starts, making him only the second player ever to win three straight SEC titles, joining LSU's BR McLendon, who accomplished the feat from 1965-67.
In nine stroke-play rounds at the SEC Championship during his college career, Koivun has not shot worse than 3-under 67. The worst score in his past four SEC rounds is 6-under 64.
Koivun finished at 19-under 191, an SEC scoring record and tying himself from earlier this year at the Amer Ari Invitational for the third-lowest total score in college golf history. He shot 7-under 63 on Friday, pulling away to win by seven shots and helping Auburn lock up the first seed in match play, which begins Saturday.
After not winning in three fall starts, Koivun has dominated college golf this spring, earning his sixth trophy in the last two months and separating himself as the nation's best player by a wide margin. With a PGA Tour card in his pocket, it's a safe bet to assume he plans to turn pro following the NCAA Championship, though Koivun has yet to announce his intentions.
College golf records are incomplete, but it's believed only five players, including Tiger Woods, have won more events in a single season than Koivun. He's the first Division I golfer with six wins in a season since Matthew Wolff and Steven Fisk in 2018-19.
There are two events left for Koivun to tie the individual wins in a season record: Regionals and the NCAA Championship. He won his regional in 2025 and has finished second and fourth in his two NCAA appearances at Omni La Costa.
And in what's likely his final SEC Championship start, Koivun left his mark all over the record book.
