World's top 4 amateurs invited to Chevron, the LPGA's first major

The LPGA's first major championship of the season will feature eight elite amateurs, including the top four players in the world. The Chevron Championship begins April 23 at a new venue, Houston's Memorial Park, and several familiar faces from the recent Augusta National Women'a Amateur will be making an appearance.

Asterisk Talley, 17, rolls into the week fresh of a share of 13th at the JM Eagle LA Championship. Talley will be joined in Houston by 2025 U.S. Women's Amateur champion Megha Ganne and Paula Martin Sampedro, who won both the British Amateur and European Ladies Amateur last summer. In addition to Andrea Revuelta, the Stanford trio helped lead the Cardinal to a maiden ACC conference team title over the weekend, with Martin Sampedro taking home medalist honors.

World No. 1 Kiara Romero will miss the Big Ten Championship to make her debut in the Chevron. Earlier this spring, Romero won the Chevron Collegiate as well as the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate.

South Korea's Yunseo Yang won the Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific Championship to earn her spot, which at the time, marked a fourth straight victory for the 29th-ranked amateur.

University of Texas standout Farah O'Keefe is one of the hottest players in college golf and will head back to Texas after the SEC Championship to make her Chevron debut. The Longhorns advanced to the quarterfinals on Monday in Florida, which means O'Keefe will get to Houston later than most.
