WR Chris Brazzell II rookie fantasy outlook and impact on WR teammates

The Carolina Panthers selected WR Chris Brazzell II in the third round of the NFL draft. What is his realistic 2026 fantasy outlook, and how might his presence impact Tetairoa McMillan, Xavier Legette, and Jalen Coker?

Carolina might have gotten a steal with Brazzell. But on paper, he appears to be in a less-than-enviable fantasy situation. Bryce Young has one more year to prove he deserves a long-term contract. In other words, he’s running out of time to prove he’s a franchise quarterback. Perhaps his spotty play will be elevated by the rookie, just as it was elevated when this franchise secured McMillan with the eighth overall pick in last year’s draft.

Still, the rookie has to push past Legette (a 2024 first-rounder) and Coker (an overachieving former undrafted free agent). Legette has a higher ceiling and a lower floor. When targeting him last year, Young’s QB rating was roughly 67, or about 20 points below his overall QB rating. It could be argued that if Legette had taken a meaningful step forward, Young could have pushed for 3,500 passing yards and 30 TDs.

This currently makes Legette the biggest wild card among Carolina’s wideouts. McMillan is the clear-cut #1. Coker will have a role; when Young targeted him last season, it resulted in a 117.8 QB rating. The year before it was 108.8. Coker’s not heading to the bench.

If Brazzell outplays Legette in camp, it would set up an interesting dilemma for this team and a challenging one for managers (like me) drawn to a streamlined receiving corps with clear pecking orders.
